Welcome AP Psychology!
Each student must contribute to ongoing discussions in a substantive way. You will find the reading in the folders at the front of the classroom. Online weeks begin on Monday and end on Sunday for each instructional unit. You are expected to participate at least 3 times during each online week. One or more DQs will be posted each unit. You must respond to each reading/question within one posting by midnight on Sunday of each week. In addition, you must participate beyond just providing your answers to the reading. The more substance each of you provides the better the discussion. The more substance you provide the higher number of points you will receive (up to 15 points per DQ week). All entries responding to a weekly DQ posted past the week’s deadline date will not earn points. There are no exceptions to this procedure. After the chapter test, the class moves on to the next topic.

These journals/discussions facilitate deep processing of learning and differentiation of instruction by encouraging critical thinking and independent exploration. They also provide an additional forum for me to give feedback to guide your individual learning.

Requirement
As you read the postings of your classmates, consider how you might add to the discussion. You could ask probing questions, offer examples, share a different perspective, seek clarification, add your own insights based on your experiences from outside this course, etc. Avoid brief comments like, "I agree with Helen." Your goal is to add to the discussion so that further understanding develops. I expect from each participant at least two postings in response to other student answers (this is in addition to posting your answer to the DQs).
